The Disagreement is a literary reading series edited* by Bryant Musgrove and Melissa Swantkowski that looks for the funny in the sad, grotesque, and the perverse. The readings happen every other month at The Hi-Fi Bar in the East Village.

We’re seeking work that demands to be read aloud.

Well, we aim to create an entertaining evening. So, what you send us should be what you plan to read, and we might ask you to make some edits, cuts, or changes to create a “reading version” of the piece. Or we might ask you to read all 35 minutes of your sad, grotesque, perversely wonderful fiction, poetry, or non-fiction. Seriously, we often feature longer works, so please don’t be shy about sending that stuff our way!
